About the Program

The Technica Fellowship Program is a 8-week initiative, held during mid-June to mid-August, that seeks to democratize access to the tech industry. In this program, a group of exceptional students will be given the special opportunity to work directly on Technica’s very own digital platform. Fellows will gain real industry experience working on a real-world technology project that impacts thousands of users while making a positive impact on our hackers, volunteers, mentors, organizers, and sponsors!

The fellowship is designed for rising college freshmen who have a demonstrated interest in technology but have not had an industry internship yet.

This was my saving grace on getting CS experience. Participating in this fellowship allowed me to learn crucial CS skills that I wouldn’t have in class such as navigating GitHub, using Node.js, etc. And I got to do all of this while working with other women in tech!

I LOVED the fellows program! It has been an amazing experience learning from and working with such an amazing community, and I’d recommend it to just about anyone! I also got to bring my stuffed Corgi to Zoom calls!

I learned a ton about backend development during the fellowship. I was initially a bit nervous since I mostly did front-end work prior to the fellowship, but I really enjoyed the challenge of learning new technologies together with my team. I loved my Technica community! 😊

I enjoyed collaborating with amazing group of people and hearing their journey to becoming a SWE. Biggest takeaway - Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Talk to people about what you are going through, they have been there or going through the same process. The community was great at making no questions feel dumb.
